Manufactering Process.

STAR CLAYS is the new venture of mandakan group of companies and star clays terra cotta tile is the outcome of their vast experience in the field for more than two decades.

To preserve and to keep the quality of the product at the optimum it has to undergo strict quality control check at every stage of production process from beginning till end.

To keep strength, colour, and porosity of the tile in a better condition we procure clay from A.P, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala after analyzing the clay test reports. The clay is stored in a stock yard maintained for the purpose. From the yard the required clay is lifted to a Hopper and after weighing the material the exact quantity is transferred to Ball Mill where it is added with water and grind for more than four hours. To test the condition, sample of slurry taken from the Ball Mill is tested in the lab by expert lab technicians and after confirmation the slurry is discharged to a tank through a sleeve. From the tank the slurry is pumped to the Agitated tank by using a Mud pump through a 60 mesh sleeve. With the help of a Piston Pump the same is sprayed in to the Spray Drier. The hot air generated from the Hot Air Generator keeps temperature inside the Spray Drier at the required level. The Spray Drier has an inbuilt system to produce cyclones and it helps to transfer the slurry form of clay to granules form. The automatic system in the device helps to keep the moisture of the granules at the required level. However, size and moisture content of the granules are tested in the lab specially maintained for the purpose.

After proper checking and analysis of reports granules are transferred to the stock tanks and by using conveyor they are moved to the press hopper. The Italian make Sacmi press presses granules under heavy hydraulic pressure and become green tile. Tiles then moved to the drier and the moisture in the tile come down to less than one percent. Then it moved to the Roller Kiln which is imported from China and are gradually fired up to 1000° C by using LPG which keep the terra cotta tile under uniform colour, strength and finish.

Fired tiles are stored and packed in cartons. For the time being we are producing tiles of two sizes:- 300x300x12xmm thickness and 230x230x12mm thickness.

They are free from any pigments, colours, or chemicals; they are enriched with mineral and emit 92.8% Far-infrared energy which will help the body metabolism. It will keep out the body from traumatism and joint pains, skin problem and many other health problems which are very common in modern life.
